FRMCS Communications Foundation Enables Proactive Risk Warning for Train Operations

The presentation focused on rail operational safety and efficiency improvement. Jiaxun Feihong introduced its FRMCS-based dispatch communication system, BVR (Beyond Visual Range) driver assistance system, and integrated solutions covering level crossing safety detection, construction safety control, disaster monitoring, and perimeter intrusion alarm—demonstrating the company's expansion from dispatch communications into intelligent perception, active early warning, and assisted decision-making.

Jiaxun Feihong shared its thinking on the upgrade of rail safety management philosophy: through the coordinated interaction of digital communication networks, intelligent perception, data fusion, intelligent analysis, and command dispatch platforms, safety management is shifting from "passive protection" to "active prevention."

The FRMCS dispatch communication system consists of the MDS wired dispatch system and the MCX wireless broadband trunking communication system. MDS deeply integrates voice, video, multimedia, and data services to achieve visualized transport dispatch and emergency coordination. MCX provides mission-critical communication capabilities including McPtt, McVideo, and McData, enabling fixed-mobile converged dispatch based on 5G public-private networks and LTE. The coordinated application of both systems meets the refined dispatch needs of existing railway lines and provides reliable communication support for the evolution toward FRMCS.

Building on this foundation, the BVR Beyond Visual Range Driver Assistance System further applies FRMCS standards and broadband wireless network capabilities to train operation safety scenarios. The system deploys high-definition cameras and meteorological sensors along railway lines to monitor track environment conditions in real time. Using AI visual analysis technology, it identifies and warns against intrusions such as personnel or rock falls on tracks, natural disasters including heavy rain, strong winds, floods, and landslides, as well as unauthorized vehicles or personnel entering level crossing areas. Drivers can view forward track conditions in real time from the cab and receive alerts, enabling them to grasp imminent dangers intuitively and respond earlier to emergencies, thereby safeguarding train operation safety.

This approach aligns with the global rail industry's ongoing intelligent upgrade trend. Going forward, rail communication systems will no longer serve merely as information transmission channels, but as critical neural networks connecting people, trains, stations, lines, networks, and cloud—forming essential infrastructure supporting intelligent operations and safety decisions.

Targeting High-Risk Scenarios to Build a Full-Chain Intelligent Protection System

Safety remains the lifeline of rail transit development. Faced with expanding global rail transit operations, increasingly complex line environments, and more refined operational organization, traditional safety assurance models relying on manual experience and post-incident response can no longer meet the demands of future smart railways. Upon detecting stranded personnel or vehicles, it immediately triggers alarms synchronized to the dispatch center and driver terminals, forming a closed loop of "monitoring—alerting—coordinated response."

02 Railway Construction Safety Management Solution

Based on machine vision and deep learning, this solution automatically identifies behaviors such as failure to wear safety helmets, unauthorized crossing, and large machinery encroachment, reporting violations to the dispatch center in real time. It provides a one-stop service platform for data processing, algorithm development, and system integration, supporting 24/7 intelligent analysis.

03 Railway Disaster Monitoring and Prevention Solution

Adopting a dual-mode architecture of drones and meteorological sensors, drones conduct regular or on-demand flights in hard-to-reach areas, collecting video data for AI identification of landslides, slope collapses, floods, debris flows, and fires. Meteorological sensors (wind, rainfall, snowfall, soil moisture) build disaster trend prediction models to provide basis for proactive risk management. The system supports automatic generation of inspection reports to improve operational efficiency.

04 Railway Perimeter Intrusion Alarm Solution

Jointly developed by Jiaxun Feihong and Huawei, with Jiaxun Feihong responsible for monitoring center platform integration and Huawei providing sensor and camera device deployment. The solution offers two fusion options: "fiber optic + video" and "millimeter-wave radar + video," both capable of detecting anomalies such as personnel entering restricted areas. The front end perceives intrusion behavior through fiber optic or radar, while the back end performs secondary verification through intelligent video analysis, ensuring near-zero missed reports and extremely low false alarm rates.

Deepening Technology Globalization to Serve Worldwide Rail Intelligence Construction
