Traditional subway dedicated telephone systems, which employ TDM or VoIP technology, only support voice communication. They are unable to provide more direct and rich transportation-related information to support dispatchers in accurately and quickly issuing dispatch orders, especially for efficient allocation of transportation resources in emergency situations. It is evident that traditional dedicated telephone systems no longer meet the requirements for efficient transportation command in smart urban rail transit.

To meet the development needs of smart urban rail transit and the requirements for information construction, the dedicated telephone system has undergone technological iteration. It now adopts the IMS design concept to achieve a transformation from voice to multimedia visualization in dispatch command, while also supporting interconnection related to transportation command, thus laying the foundation for further integrated dispatch command. The intelligent multimedia dedicated telephone system consists of multimedia dispatch master equipment at the OCC control center, backup control center dispatch master equipment at the vehicle depot, visual dispatch consoles, visual duty consoles, IP dispatch telephones, and recording and video equipment. The system features visible dispatch services, intelligent and convenient operations, and safe and reliable equipment. In the face of peak passenger flow and sudden major events, it provides dispatch personnel with a more comprehensive information and more efficient command communication information platform, ensuring the stable operation of subway passenger transportation, promoting the development and innovation of urban rail transit information systems, and enhancing the support capability for business applications.
